Tradstravaganza Part 1: 3.02 Following Single-Pitch Trad

Hi School of Rock, It's time for your "senior project!" Get out there and actually experience why "trad is rad!"

If you hope to participate in both 3.02 and 3.05, please sign up for both trips---there are two signups!

What: 3.02 Following single-pitch trad

When: Saturday, 10/15

Where: Echo Crag

Who: participants will be selected based a combination of the following criteria:

  • How many people can we take? (Hopefully all of you!)
  • Advanced vs. beginner track
  • Your participation in the class

What to bring:

  • All of your personal climbing gear
  • Nut tool
  • Cordelette
  • Headlamp

The plan: we will break into groups of 2-3 and you will get a chance to follow single-pitch trad climbs at Echo Crag. At leaders' discretion, you may be allowed to mock lead pitches.

After the Saturday trip is complete, we will get dinner in Lincoln NH as a group. At dinner, the leaders will add up how many people we will be able to take on Sunday and will select participants from the Sunday trip sign up. Those who are not participating on Sunday will then return to Boston.

If you will participate on Sunday, bring gear for camping. We will head up to our cabin at Intervale to spend the night, and your assigned leader will take you up some multipitch climb(s) on Sunday.

Please email Alex or Maia with any questions!

Get stoked!
