Moderate
Prerequisites
Hiking boots or trail runners. OK physical condition.

Join a hike to Mt. Shaw, the high point in the Ossipee Range! It's on the 52-with-a-view list for its panoramic view of the White Mountains to the north. On the way up, we'll pass Shannon Pond and Bridle Path Hill, with a view of Lake Winnipesaukee, the largest lake in NH. If we're feeling energetic, we could also add a short side trip to another peak, Black Snout, with an even better view of Lake Winnipesaukee.

Because it's only a 2-hour drive from Boston, and because the hike itself is moderate, we'll leave Cambridge at the lazy hour of 9:30am, stop at a creperie near the trailhead for a quick bite, hike at a comfortable pace, and still plan to be back not too late!

Route: 8.4 miles, 1800 ft. elevation gain. Map: https://caltopo.com/m/V7V0G
