Difficulty rating

Prerequisites
Top Rope Ice climbing, Lead Belaying, Winter Hiking.

Join us for a romp up the classic Willey's slide in Crawford notch! A short approach leads to up to 6 pitches of easy ice. We'll chat about ice anchors and various aspects of multipitch ice and alpine climbing. A great introduction for harder alpine climbs in the whites and beyond!

This trip is suitable for people who have been on Top Rope ice climbing trips first and have experience hiking with crampons in the winter. This could also be a first ice climb if you're an experienced winter hiker/mountaineer who's completed steep, icy trails in crampons. You should also have experience lead belaying (we may take one participant who has not lead belayed). Experience rappelling is a plus.

Feel free to email me with questions!
