It’s time for 3-season hiking and we need leaders! In order to become a 3-Season Hiking Leader or Co-Leader, you should attend a 3S Safety & Training seminar:

The first seminar will be on Tuesday, May 28th at 6.30PM – 7.30PM on MIT campus – in Building 32, Room 144 (32-144, https://whereis.mit.edu). Food will be provided. If you can’t attend in-person, you can attend over Zoom (https://mit.zoom.us/j/97315492645).

To become a 3-season co-leader with MITOC you will need to:

    • Have participated in at least 2 official MITOC hiking trips

    • Submit an application at mitoc-trips.mit.edu/hiking/leaders/apply

    • Attend a 3-season hiking Safety & Training Seminar

You can move from a co-leader to full leader status after leading 2 hikes as co-leader and receiving upgrade recommendations from full leaders on these trips. We will also assign full-leader status on a case-by-case evaluation of previous outdoor leadership expertise, including your leader rating from Winter School, if applicable. Read more at mitoc.mit.edu/get-involved/become-3-season-leader.
