Whether or not you've run a half marathon before, join us on a 13.1 mile road run around the Emerald Necklace and Harvard Arboretum.

The run

The route starts and ends at MIT. Leaving after 3pm on Saturday 11th May (weather-dependent). We'll probably target an 11 min/ mile (6:50 min/km) pace, but this will be a no-drop run (we'll run at a pace that works for everyone).

Prerequisites

• You do not need to have run a half marathon before
• You should have run 10+ km (6+ miles) in the past 6 months, at our target pace or faster
• You can comfortably run 5km
• You are willing to run/ jog continuously for 2.5 hours (don't worry, we'll probably have some pauses, but they will be kept as short as possible)
• You are not actively recovering from any running or leg injuries, and have no medical conditions which will prevent you from running this distance (if in doubt, please consult your physician)

What you'll need

• Running shoes (which fit you!)
• Appropriate running attire (considering the weather)
• Water bottle (water fountains are limited on this route - water will be important)

Logistics

• Please provide availability for alternative dates if we need to re-schedule due to rainy weather
• We will organise a pre-trip meeting for anyone who has never run this far before - details TBC
