- Microspikes, snowshoes. Mandatory WS lectures. Previous winter hiking experience. Physical condition for a hike of this length and elevation gain.
Join us in a hike up to North and Middle Tripyramid, two 4000-footers in the White Mountains. Although we will not be traversing the notorious North Tripyramid Slide, our route (an out-and-back along Pine Bend Brook Trail) still has some very steep sections.
Route: 9.6 mi, 3550 ft gain. Map: https://caltopo.com/m/L9E2F
Our mandatory pre-trip meeting is on zoom on Thurs Feb 8 at 6:30pm. Because it is not in person, participants must rent microspikes and snowshoes on their own at MITOC office hours if they do not already have them. See https://mitoc.mit.edu/calendar for office hour times.
We will leave Cambridge early so that we can hike at a comfortable pace. We'll stop for a quick breakfast along the way.
Participants will share car costs (about $120/car). If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, please edit the lottery preferences on your MITOC profile to show this.
