1. Physical fitness for an difficulty trip. 2. Have hiked something of similar length and elevation gain this season. 3. Hiking boots.

We will be hiking to Mt. Garfield to enjoy the views of the Pemigewasset wilderness!

The trail itself is around 9.5 miles, but due to the Gale River Loop Road winter closure, there is approximately a one mile road walk to get the to trail head. Altogether, the hike will be around 11.5 miles. Total elevation gain is around 3k feet.

This will be a difficult hike due to distance and elevation gain, and we will be hiking at a moderately fast pace hence you are previous winter hike experience and being in reasonably good shape is recommended. Expect to use microspikes and snowshoes if the weather changes!

The pre-trip meeting will be on Thursday at 6:00PM outside of the MITOC office on the 4th floor of the Student Center (W20).
