Sleep in and enjoy wonderful 360 degree views with us! Join us on Saturday on Mount Wachusett, a local-ish mountain (~1 hour drive from MIT, leaving at 9:00).
It will be very cold on the peak and we will encounter some snow and ice on the trip. We will bring microspikes for traction (can be rented from MITOC). The loop is 4.9-miles long and has an elevation gain of 1150ft.
The pre-trip meeting will be on Thursday, February 1st, 17:30 on the first floor of the student centre.
This is a great hike for someone with 3 season experience who is looking to get into winter hiking or anyone looking for a hike on the easier/moderate end of the spectrum. Winter experience is not a pre-req for this trip.
