Prerequisites
Fitness commensurate with comfortably hiking 6+ miles / 2.5k+ vert in any season + have done a winter hike before. Comfortable returning after sunset / by headlamp (no experience required).

The opulence returns, with yet another fancy dinner party.

We'll be hauling a table, tablecloth, folding chairs, goblets, silverware, and Fancy Feast out into the wilderness, so we can enjoy a multi-course meal in the comfort of the great outdoors! If you enjoy delicious food, like hauling large numbers of bizarre things into the woods, want to wear a tie over your winter layers, or need more photos of yourself doing something bizarre, please join us!

In order to set up our dinner party, we’ll use techniques ranging from fancy sleds to good old fashioned heavy packs with questionable strapping, both of which you might encounter on a larger expedition. We'll also have opportunities to practice setting up stoves, place setting, and any other skills you want to test out. We’ll wrap up dinner right after sunset, and return by headlamp. We’re asking that everyone has experience with considerably harder hikes as carrying this much gear and returning by headlamp can be a challenge. That said, if you’re stoked for fancy dinners and do not meet these prerequisites please reach out to the leaders so we can discuss if you’d be a good fit.

Destination will be finalized based on weather / sledding conditions. We’re deciding between:
Bald Peak (1.0 mile / 320ft), with an option to slack pack Artists Bluff (+1 mile, +200ft).
Lonesome Lake (3.0 miles / 1030ft)
Franconia Falls (7 miles / 450 ft, very sleddable)

We'll abandon the sunset timing and do an earlier dinner if the weather looks especially cloudy or cold.

In the past we’ve had cheese and chocolate fondue, hors d'oeuvres, multiple soup and entree courses, sparkling cider, freshly-torched Creme brulee, fresh flowers, and more - help us raise the bar again! This will be potluck style, so everyone should plan on contributing food / supplies. There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting at MIT, 9PM on Thursday.

Hope to see you there!
