Details
We're heading to the White Mountains to hike two NH48: Osceola and East Osceola! This will be a moderate to difficult trip of 7 miles and 3000 feet of elevation gain. The trail is steep and may require crampons. We are looking for participants who have some winter hiking experience and have done similarly difficult 3 season hikes. Map is here
Requirements
Previous winter hiking experience is required! In addition, you should have experience hiking similar mileage and elevation gain with a moderately heavy backpack during any season. Please budget for the following expenses: $5 trip fee, $20-50 carpooling costs, possible gear rentals and eventual food you buy along the way.
Logistics
We will need a couple drivers for this trip! Please update your car status if you can drive others. If not, please select "not driving" or "will drive self". You must be prepared to rent a car if you have selected "willing to rent." (MIT provides discounted car rental to affiliates, and we'll evenly split rental/gas costs). There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting at the MITOC Office at 9pm on Thursday
While this is a first-come-first-serve sign-up, we may have to adjust the number of participants based on available drivers! Signing up does not immediately guarantee a place on this trip. Thank you for your understanding and please email us with any questions.
