1. Physical fitness for an Advanced difficulty trip. 2. Have hiked something of similar length and elevation in any season. 3. Have done atleast a winter hike

Join us for a lovely, difficult hike up Mt. South Twin and Galehead on Saturday, Jan 27! This is a 14 mile hike (2.7 of which are walking to the trailhead) with 3700ft of elevation gain and beautiful views of Pemigewasset wilderness! We will start hiking at the Gale River Trailhead, followed by taking the steep Twinway up to South Twin. On our way down, we will take a small detour to Galehead via Frost Trail. Trail: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-hampshire/galehead-and-south-twin-via-gale-river-trail

We will be requiring microspikes and possibly snowshoes for this trip. We expect temperatures in the higher 20s at the peak, with 15-20 mph winds.

Participants should have past experience with similarly difficult 3-season hikes, have physical fitness commensurate with a steep climb and have done at least one winter hike.
