Prerequisites
winter hiking experience, good layering skills in case of windy conditions, maximum stoke

Come join us for a not too cold but possibly windy hike to Mt Hight and Carter Dome. The trail is approximately 10 miles long, with 3600 feet of elevation, and several steep sections. Will modify route based on weather, trail conditions, and participant stoke level. This will be a difficult trip: plan on hiking for several hours.

We will start at the Nineteen Mile Brook Trail Parking lot and follow the Carter Dome trail to hit Mt. Hight and Carter Dome and either come back the same way or make it a loop depending on trail conditions.

We will start early, so that we can hike at a moderate pace (we plan to leave Cambridge at 5am on Sunday). This trip requires snowshoes and microspikes. We will decide about crampons as we get closer to the trip.

If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, edit the “Lottery preferences” on your MITOC profile to show this.

The mandatory pre-trip meeting is on Thursday after the lecture, at 9pm in front of the MITOC office.
