- Good fitness to hike 7+ miles,
Join us as we saunter up Mt Shaw and Black Snout https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-hampshire/mount-shaw-black-snout two peaks in the Osipee range with great views of Lake Winnipesaukee! Our route will be about 7.5 miles with 2.3k ft elevation gain.
We'll work on layering in warmish winter weather, using microspikes, and possibly using snowshoes.
You should have good 3 season fitness and feel comfortable hiking over 7 miles with a heavy pack. Winter experience is helpful but not required.
Mandatory pre trip meeting will be Thursday before lecture.
Participants will share car costs (about $120/car). If you can drive your own car or are committed renting a car for this weekend, please edit the lottery preferences on your MITOC profile to show this.
