You live in Boston/Cambridge/Somerville/Surrounding Areas, but how much have you really explored the great urban parks around us? There is so much to see without even getting in a car! Come join this Saturday afternoon for a half day urban hike. Trip includes history, parks, ponds, rivers/streams, and an awesome view of the Boston skyline! And best of all, we will be ending at Time Out Market in Fenway, where you can grab a donut or coffee if you want!
This is a good trip if you like to exercise and want to practice layering for hiking in the winter. It will be a quite easy trip as Boston is quite flat, but note the longer distance.
Distance is about 7 miles (point to point) with 500 ft elevation gain. Route: https://www.gaiagps.com/map/?loc=15.3/-71.1101/42.3434&pubLink=541ZFBgiqm9Lhd7TMEu3s5hY&trackId=1380f2ce-80d3-4e60-bebb-b3791f4e3fe8
Current weather forecast (as of 3:37 pm 1/23) for Sat is low 40s, partly cloudy, and mild winds.
You'll need warm layers and comfortable walking shoes.
Pre-trip meeting will be at 5 pm Thursday on Zoom (link TBA). This meeting is mandatory. If you can't make it for any reason, please contact the leaders to let them know.
Note that we will be meeting at 1:30 pm at the Forest Hills T stop (conveniently located on the Orange line) and ending in Fenway (at the Green line and many buses).
