Prerequisites
Prior three-season hiking experience of similar length. Comfort with winter layering.

Winter is a great time to hike Monadnock and skip the crowds, while still getting amazing 360-degree views from the bare summit. The trip will be around 4 miles and 1800' of elevation - great bang for your buck!

We will also experiment with using stoves in the cold! We'll practice using standard winter-rated stoves, and also experiment with some non-winter-rated canister and alcohol stoves to see how well they do in the cold. Bring something to heat up and share, and we'll also bring mac and cheese!

The trails are often icy, so we'll also practice using traction, layering, and any other skills folks are excited to learn.
