Prerequisites
Previous winter hiking experience recommended. Previous hiking experience (any season) with similar or higher distance and elevation gain required. Stoke! -- Check with leaders if in doubt.

The goa(t)l of this trip will be to practice all the skills needed to travel above treeline, turning ourselves into ibexes for a day.

Our plan will be to traverse the Moats, a low-elevation ridge in the South-Eastern White Mountains, near Conway. While not as high as the Presidentials, the Moats should offer great exposure and excellent views (if the forecast holds 🤞).

This hike would be a great fit for you if you have some experience winter hiking, and want to try popping up above the trees, where the environment can be harsher but also extremely rewarding!

We'll practice full face covering (in real conditions, the day might be windy!) and use of crampons if necessary.

The hike itself is 10 miles with about 3200ft of elevation gain.
