Kick off 2024 Winter School by helping Cristian and Zsofia getting peaks off their TO-HIKE list!!!

This is the plan: Saturday morning leave from Cambridge around 7am, drive to NH and hike up Mt Tecumseh. This will be a moderate hike of 4.9 miles, with 2300 feet of elevation, perfect to regain familiarity with winter traction and layer management.

After the hike we will spend Saturday night at MITOC's Intervale cabin. The cabin is heated but depending on the amount of people we might have to sleep in tents outside... please keep this in mind!

If the weather is bad on Saturday we will skip Tecumseh and drive up to Intervale on Saturday night.

Mandatory pre-trip meeting will be held at MITOC office at 6pm before the WS lecture on Thursday. You will also have the possibility to rent gear, please bring a checkbook for rental deposits. More details will be sent to trip participants after the lottery runs.

If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, edit the “Lottery preferences” on your MITOC profile to show this.

Please budget for the following expenses: carshare ($30-50), trip fee ($5), camping or cabin ($3.5 or 10), gear rentals, eventual food (mostly it will be byo).
