Strap on your headlamps, we'll be heading to Waterville Valley Nordic for an introductory trip to night skiing! Enjoy the sparkly, winter stillness of cross-country classic skiing at night with hot cocoa at the end and an option to stay overnight at Camelot cabin (10-15min drive from the trailhead).

We'll start skiing early Sunday evening/dusk (4:30pm) and plan to be back at the cars by 7pm. Trails will be green or blue, so easy to moderate in difficulty. BUT, given that we'll be skiing at night with poorer depth perception, potentially marginal snow covering in some spots thanks to some rain/warm weather wednesday & saturday - this trip is rated for moderate difficulty.

Mandatory in-person pre-trip meeting Thursday, January 11 at 6pm (before the Winter School lecture) in MITOC office W20-461, student center.

Participants will share car costs, if you are able to drive or rent a car please indicate this on your lottery preferences. Trail Passes will be required at $18/person.

Prerequisites: Must rent from MITOC or have your own skis, have previously participated in at least 1 prior XC ski trip with MITOC or have sufficient XC skiing experience (can handle some downhills/uphills, know how to step in and out of tracks/safely avoid rocks or bare spots while moving, feel comfortable xc skiing on ungroomed trails).
