SIGNUP HERE FOR JAN 21 - WEEKEND 1 TRIP

Please only sign up if you have bought your Pat's Peak class and are ready to commit to this cohort!

Mandatory Meeting - 6:15pm on Tues Jan. 16

We will have a brief in person meeting with everyone before the program starts. We will go over expectations, sort rideshare for that weekend, etc. We can meet informally in a hallway nearby / outside the WS lecture hall. I know this is during the leader pre-trip meeting, but maybe for that week you can pre-arrange your trips.) Bonus: You can go to the WS lecture afterwards!

MITOC wants to help people learn how to ski! One of the best ways to learn is through a cohort model (build a community of friends!), with instruction from experts, and extended opportunities to practice. MITOC would like to provide these through coordinating a cohort's access to the Pat's Peak Learn to Ski package. For $649 you get four ski lessons, a pair of skis at the end of the program, and a season pass for continued visits after the program concludes. Plus, it's the closest real resort to Boston, located outside of Concord, NH and only a 1.5 hr drive away. Please plan on buying your Pat's Peak passport pass independently, and paying $10-20 each way to your driver.

Learn more about program and buy your pass: Pat's Peak Passport Program: https://www.patspeak.com/plan-your-visit/tickets-passes/value-packages/

You MUST be a new / beginner skier to participate in the program. Please be honest and refrain from participating if you are not a new skier--lying about this might compromise our ability to run the program next year.

Trips will run on Sundays: Jan. 21, Jan. 28, Feb. 4th, and Feb. 11. Depending on interest, there could be an optional weekend Feb. 18. MITOC will help coordinate a rideshare for these four weekends, but you are encouraged to use the group chat that will be made for these trips and new friends to ski as frequently as you can. Please plan on leaving Boston ~6:30am and returning ~6:30pm.

Participation in this program is separate from the WS program. You DO need to have an active MITOC membership (waiver + membership up to date). You DO NOT need to participate in the mandatory WS lectures to do this program. If you do choose to participate in the Winter School program in addition to the Pat's Peak program you must attend the mandatory lectures and only sign up for trips that do not run on Sunday.

We will make our lift ticket reservations during the pre trip meeting. This is required in order to ski. If you would like to do this ahead of time, go to patspeak.com, plan your visit, Reservations - Other products, and follow the prompts. Under reservation type select “Passport program plus”. Under lift ticket select “8:30-4".

Day of information: When you arrive at the mountain, you will go up the stairs to the ticket window with an ID and pick up your passport and ski card. You then go downstairs and bring your passport and card to the rentals office. They will scan your card and give you your lift ticket and rentals. There are three times for lessons 10, 11:30, and 1:30. Check for the location of the lesson you would like to attend (green - new, green plus - beginner, etc.). You should arrive at the mountain at least an hour before your lesson in order to get your passport and rentals. The earliest you can start skiing is 8:30.
