- Must be comfortable skiing blue terrain at a resort, must be able to hike 1 mile and 1000 feet.
Intro to backcountry/uphill/alpine touring/skimo/ski touring. If you have ever wondered how backcountry skiers get to the top of a run, this is for you. We will cover the basics of going uphill on skis at your local uphill-friendly resort (Wachusett).

(below) due to this, mitoc ski rental costs have been waived. this is a "season pass", so you can keep it and go uphill ski at wawa all season!
Schedule: Tues Dec 12 @ 6PM mitoc office Meet at the mitoc office to check out gear. We will go over gear basics and what to expect on the trip.
Thurs Dec 14 @ 5 AM Carpools depart to Wachusett, meet in the lot at 6. Get skiing by 6:30! cars can decide to depart at-will after about 8, estimate about 1.5 hours to get back to Somerville.
