Get ready for the upcoming 2024 Winter School with this 9 miles hike that will summit North and South Hancock peaks, both above 4k feet.
The route is a loop of 9.6 miles starting out from the Kancamagus Hwy. Because of the 2,600ft of elevation gain and of the significantly steep section going for half a mile before the North Peak, this is going to be a difficult hike.
We will monitor the weather forecast but expect snowy and potentially icy terrain, that will require use of traction - at least microspikes.
There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting, on Zoom at 8pm on Wednesday, Nov 29th. Invitation and more info will follow by email after signups close and the lottery runs.
