Good physical shape, sure footing, adequate gear.

Come with us up Mt Adams via the Chemin des Dames! We will be starting from the Appalachia Trailhead in Randolph and taking the Short Line Trail on the way up crossing over onto the Airline Trial via Chemin des Dames, which will lead to the summit of Mt. Adams. We'll then take the Valley Path on the way down. The entire loop is about 8.5 miles (14km) long and approx 5000ft (1.500m) elevation gain! This is a harder hike, good physical shape and sure footing are a must! We should have some great views of the Foliage from the summit making it the perfect place to have a picnic. Bring some extra food to make a friend. :) Mt. Adams summit is exposed to wind and cold (the presidential range has some of the worst weather in the US), so we will be layering up. Pack colder than you might think, there's no harm in carrying extra layers.

We plan to leave Cambridge around 6 AM on Sunday October 15. We are expecting to be back in Cambrigde in the evening around 9pm (potentially later if there's traffic or we just aren't as fast - you should not have any plans in the evening that you cannot cancel.) We will be sharing the cost of gas and parking. We’ll have a mandatory pre-trip meeting on zoom Friday October 13 at 7 pm.

If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, edit the lottery preferences on your MITOC profile.
