Purgatory Chasm is one of the most unusual geological features in Massachusetts, and it's only 50 minutes from Cambridge! We'll be doing a "Tour de Purgatory Chasm", hiking every trail and visiting every attraction in the park, about 4.5 miles in total, with some scrambling over rocks! Map of Purgatory Chasm
After the hike, we will go to West End Creamery for ice cream and mini golf! We plan to leave Cambridge around 8 AM on Sun Oct 1.
We’ll have a short pre-trip meeting on zoom Thurs Sept 28 at 7:15 pm.
If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, edit the lottery preferences on your MITOC profile to show this.
We will split the cost of transportation (gas etc. estimated to be ~$45/vehicle and parking fee $5~$20/vehicle, depending on in-state vs. out-of-state license plate) evenly among all participants and leaders. All expenses at the West End Creamery are separate (see https://www.westendcreamery.com for details). If paying these costs would be a financial hardship for you, please reach out to one of the leaders.
