Explore Boston & Cambridge from a Canoe! We will spend 3-4 hours paddling the lower basin of the Charles river, checking out the Esplanade lagoons, the floating wetland, various parks along the river, and the underside of the city's infrastructure. We'll start by meeting at the MITOC boathouse at 10am, and carting our canoes 1 mile to the river. After launching we will take a leisurely pace down the river from the Mass. Ave. bridge to the Charles River locks, stopping wherever people want and breaking for lunch around noon. Participants must be able to swim, and will need to bring lunch, water, and appropriate clothing. No paddling experience necessary, and students will be prioritized for this trip!
In case of inclement weather we will reschedule to Sunday 9/10 depending on leader availability.
