Description
Join us for an exciting traverse of 4 peaks this weekend! We will hit three 4000 footers (Tom, Field, Willey) and take in a lovely view of Crawford Notch from Avalon. Along the way, we'll explore beautiful forest biomes seldom seen in the rain :-).
Itinerary
The planned route is ~10 miles with ~3400 ft elevation gain.
Weather
The current forecast is rain, so be prepared for a full day of hiking in the rain. The current plan is to hike Sunday, but we will discuss other options at the pre-trip meeting.
Pre-trip Meeting
We will have a mandatory pre-trip meeting Thursday night at 8:30pm via Zoom.
Is this trip really going to run in the rain?
Shorter answer, yes!
Longer answer, some people like hiking in the rain. We don't know how many MITOCers like hiking in the rain, but if this experience calls to you, join us!
If the weather shifts and the rain goes away, are we still hiking? Yes! Rain isn't a necessary condition (but let's be honest, it's raining).
Other
This trip sign-up will be via lottery; current trip maximum is 5 people, with potential to increase up to 10 pending car availability. If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, edit the “Lottery preferences” on your MITOC profile to show this.
Please email the trip leaders with any questions!
