Prerequisites
Big heart for Rumney/nature.

Come make the critically acclaimed Rumney Rocks even better with a day of volunteer trail maintenance! We'll join Access Fund and AMC for the inaugural Rumney Rocks Rehab event. There will be trail projects at 5.8 Crag and the Main Wall.

Like any other outdoor maintenance work, this trip will be physically demanding (but rewarding!)

Timeline

Carpool up before 7 a.m. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Rumney parking lot. Work wraps up around 3 p.m.

Preparation

For the day, it's important to:

  • Wear closed-toed shoes. Long sleeves and pants are recommended.
  • Bring water, snacks, and extra layers for the elements.
  • Be prepared to be challenged, work hard, and gain sending karma points!

Although we'll be outside, if you are feeling ill or have had any recent exposure to Covid please reconsider and stay home to rest up!

Expected cost

We will carpool up, and please pay your driver for gas, toll, and car upkeep. Expect $30-40 per person. If you are an MIT student and financial considerations may prevent you from participating in this trip, please let us know.

We will host a virtual, 30-min pre-trip to coordinate on Jun 21 at 6:30 pm
