It is (almost) time for 3-season hiking and we need leaders!

There will be a Safety & Training Seminar on Tuesday, May 9th at 6.30-7:30pm on MIT campus - Building 3, Room 133 (https://whereis.mit.edu).

Food will be provided. I’ll send the slides beforehand in case you want to read them in advance or use them for notes.

To lead hiking trips with mitoc you will need to:

  • Have participated in at least 2 official hiking trips

  • Submit an application at mitoc-trips.mit.edu/hiking/leaders/apply

  • Attend a 3-season hiking Safety & Training Seminar.

Doing so will grant you a co-leader status. You can receive full leader status after leading 2 hikes as co-leader and receive upgrade recommendations. We will also assign full-leader status on a case-by-case evaluation of previous outdoor leadership expertise.

Not sure how leading hikes for mitoc works?

  • Read more at mitoc.mit.edu/get-involved/become-3-season-leader

  • Join one of our hikes

  • Come and hang out with us during a circus or any other social event
