Who says you can't have fun outdoor adventures on weeknights!? Join us for a beginner kayaking trip to Peddocks Island, where there are hiking trails, military ruins, and coastal forests. We will plan on leaving MIT around 4PM and launching from Nut Island at 6PM. We will camp at the group camp site around here right by the beach. Our beach campfires (below the high tide line) will be an awesome! Depending on interest, we can consider some headlamp island exploring, braving some cold water swimming with glowsticks, and/or doing a sunrise/morning kayaking. On Wednesday, we will enjoy a yummy pancake breakfast (with real maple syrup) on the island, and head back to Cambridge and go back to work.

You need to provide your own camping gear and dinner for the first night. Peddocks Island has bathrooms and potable water! Conditions currently look good, but there is always a chance of cancellation if conditions change. We will review necessary gear and give you a chance to rent stuff before leaving.

You must be a current MITOC member to join. The trip fee, including kayak usage and camp site reservation, is $15. Please bring $3-5 cash for your drivers for gas/insurance/maintenance. Email christinium@gmail.com once you have paid to confirm your spot on the trip! (Gear Rentals and Buying Gear --> Sea Kayak --> $15)

Yay!! Adventures!!
