Prerequisites
Previous winter hiking experience; Fitness commensurate with a strenuous hike at a brisk moderate pace; Willingness to obtain all required gear

Join Adam and Sam on Sunday for a gorgeous hike to North and South Twin Mountains! Aside from hiking two mountains over 4,000 feet, this strenuous 10.7 mile trail features 3,568 feet of elevation gain and stunning views over the Whites.

This hike is most appropriate for hikers with some previous winter hiking experience and fitness commensurate with maintaining a pace on the fast side of moderate over terrain that is steep and long. You must have attended winter school safety lectures in this year or previous years per MITOC rules.

We will require spikes, snowshoes, and insulated boots for this hike. MITOC is now open for limited rentals and leaders may be willing to help in a limited way with sourcing gear; so please reach out to us if you have questions. Weather for Sunday looks beautiful but cold and windy, so layers are important.
