Come join us for a not too cold but possibly windy hike to Mt Hight and Carter Dome. The trail is approximately 10 miles long, with 3600 feet of elevation, and several steep sections. Will modify route based on weather, trail conditions, and participant stoke level. This will be a difficult trip: plan on hiking for several hours.
We will start at the Nineteen Mile Brook Trail Parking lot and follow the Carter Dome trail to hit Mt. Hight and Carter Dome and either come back the same way or make it a loop Carter Notch, anyway we will return to the Nineteen Mile Brook Trail Parking lot.
We will start early, so that we can hike at a moderate pace. The trip may be rescheduled or changed if weather conditions are not good. This trip requires snowshoes. We will decide about crampons later.
If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, edit the “Lottery preferences” on your MITOC profile to show this.
The mandatory pre-trip meeting is on Thursday after the lecture, at 9pm.
