Difficult
Prerequisites
Prior winter hiking experience preferably with crampons

We'll hike up to the East Peak of Mount Osceola via the Greeley Ponds Trail, then continue up to the summit of Mount Osceola, which on a good day has a clear 220-degree view including Mount Washington and much of the White Mountains! The trip is 6.8 miles round trip with ~3000 feet of elevation gain.

The winter approach from the north is rated “Intermediate/Difficult” due to the snow conditions and potential for hardier traction, namely in the steep sections north of East Osceola and between the two peaks at the Chimney which could provide good crampon practice.

Temperature is looking mild but windy ~40mph
