  • Asha, Sat 1/21/23 update

The trail is approximately 9.5 miles long, with 3600 feet of elevation, and several steep sections. Will modify route based on weather, trail conditions, and participant stoke level. This will be a difficult trip: plan on hiking for several hours.

We will start at the Nineteen Mile Brook Trail Parking lot and follow the Carter Dome trail to hit Mt. Hight and Carter Dome. What goes around comes back around, so we'll end at the same parking lot we started at.

See route here: https://caltopo.com/m/8D91

~~~~~~~~~~
Come make an attempt on Mount Washington or Monroe or Eisenhower! Which one will it be? We shall C!!!!!! (Get it!??! ^__^) We might be going up the Ammo Ravine trail. Or, we might be going up the Jewel Trail. We will make a call later in the week depending on conditions. And, if condies look particularly bad, we'll say nooooooope and go hike the Moats. If you want some sort above level C trip, and are okay with some TBD mystery sign up here.
Jewel Trail - The Jewel Trails runs up just North of the Cog Railway and is approximately 8 miles round trip with ~4,000' of elevation gain and loss
Ammo Trail - Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail and Crawford Path. There is over 3 miles above treeline and it will be very windy and cold, so be ready for some type II fun. The total distance is 8 miles round trip with nearly 4000 feet of elevation gain.
You should be prepared for challenging conditions for this weekend will be challenging above treeline. You should be comfortable with your below and above treeline system, including all above-treeline gear (full skin covering, insulated winter boots, thick gloves, crampons, ice axe).
Requirements:
*Previous C level / above treeline hike with MITOC (at least one) + crampon use
*3 or more B level hikes with MITOC + crampon use
If you'd like to drive up and stay at Intervale on Saturday night that may be possible, will confirm Wednesday afternoon.
