Prerequisites
Interest in state borders + winter hiking

This weekend we'll be heading to Mt. Watatic (~1hr from Cambridge) for a beginner-friendly hike! Toe the line with us at the state border with New Hampshire. Will your hands be in MA and your legs in NH? One pinky in MA? Up to you! Additionally, you'll have a chance to practice your layering technique and perhaps get a chance to use microspikes if the weather permits. Watatic Mountain is ~2000' above sea level and features 360-degree views of the surrounding area. If the weather is clear, you'll be able to see Boston from the summit. We plan to leave around 8AM and return to Boston by ~1PM or so.

We'll take a route that goes up the mountain, across a stream, and eventually to the state border with New Hampshire. The full hike will be about 3.6 miles following the trail below: Wapack Loop

Since the forecast for Friday is currently calling for a small amount of snow, be prepared for wet and slippery sections on the trail by wearing shoes with appropriate traction (i.e. hiking boots + microspikes).
