Prerequisites
Confident resort skier - able to successfully navigate black mogul runs. Previous winter hiking experince.

Update: We skinned and ski'd the Gulf of Slides approach trail. The trail was great to ski (enough snow and no ice), yet the trail conditions required skill and stamina involving water crossings, sections that required kick-turns, and quick ski turns to avoid exposed rocks.

Have you heard of the mystical 'Sherb', with hushed murmurs, wondering, is it in? Are you hoping to catch a sighting of the mysterious Pinkham Notch Visitor Centaur? On this trip, we will seek these creatures of the Mt. Washington Valley while exploring the varied ski terrain of Pinkham Notch.

We will plan to ski 1-2 laps of the Gulf of Slides or John T Sherburne ski trail (~2000' of vertical, 6 mi each). We'll learn about how to use backcountry touring equipment (alpine touring skis and skins), and practice ski touring skills like layering and eating tasty snacks.
