Prerequisites
Must love snow! Some hiking experience helpful.

Join us on a hike up to Lonesome Lake to cook a super fancy lunch on our winter stoves.

Learn how to use the MITOC stoves, practice layering and delayering, practice walking in microspikes (or possibly snowshoes depending on the weather). We could also attempt to build a quinzee! We will be bringing sleds to try using on the way down.

Trail is about 3.5 miles in total with 1000 feet of elevation. trail and weather

Required gear:

  • Layers, Hat, Gloves, etc. No cotton!
  • Sturdy insulated waterproof boots
  • Microspikes (We'll decide about snowshoes before Thursday)
  • Large backpack (40L+) to hold your layers and help carry group gear.
  • 2L+ water in wide mouth bottles
  • Snacks for yourself
  • Compass, headlamp, whistle (built in to backpack is fine)

Expected costs: $5 trip fee, $0-$15 gear rentals, $25-$35 gas money
