Join us for a trip up Mt. Major in the Belknap Mountains. With stunning views of Squam lake and surrounding peaks, this hike may just hold the New Hampshire record for highest awe to effort ratio.
We’ll be starting out in Alton Bay, NH and taking the Brook Trail, a gently rising 3.6 miles for 1,200 ft of elevation gain. All told, this is an excellent hike for anyone looking to get a good first experience with New Hampshire’s beautiful mountains. https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/new-hampshire/mount-major-and-brook-trail-loop?mobileMap=false&ref=sidebar-static-map
We’ll be expecting temperatures in the low thirties, with potential snow showers, so expect to need microspikes for traction.
