Come eat breakfast in the great outdoors™ and make some new friends! If you've ever wondered how to cook pancakes, cook outdoors, or cook pancakes outdoors, then this is the trip for you!

We'll be heading to Blue Hills Reservation, which is ~30-45min from Cambridge, for a beginner-friendly hike to a lovely view of the Boston skyline, where we will pause for a break to whip out stoves and make some pancakes before heading back down. BYO plate, utensils and any preferred pancake toppings. We will approximately be following this route: Trip route: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/massachusetts/braintree-pass-path-loop (subject to change slightly, but likely ~5 miles, 800ft elevation gain)

Since the forecast for Friday is currently calling for rain, be prepared for wet and slippery sections on the trail by wearing shoes with appropriate traction (i.e. hiking boots). We do not think that microspikes will be necessary, but you are welcome to bring them if you would like (and practice carrying them for future winter hikes!). If you aren’t sure or would like to try out the rental boots to prepare for next week, we encourage you to rent a pair of very warm Sorel boots from the MITOC office and also to get practice dialing in your winter traction system.
