Prerequisites
Must have done some longer 3-season hikes. Ideally you have some form of hiking in winter conditions including use of traction (microspikes or crampons).

This is a 6.2 mile in-and-out hike to summit Mount Pierce via the Crawford Path with 2,398 ft of elevation gain. Features include brooks, water falls, and 360 views at the summit, including great views of Mt Washington! We will enjoy peanut butter cookies: a yummy source of fat, protein, and carbohydrates to keep us nice and toasty!

Mount Pierce is a 4,780 ft peak in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains in NH. It’s a good trip for hikers interested in summiting their first 4000 ft peak.

This is a moderate hike that will require winter boots and microspikes, which can be rented from the MITOC office.

The forecast on Sunday is clear and sunny with a temperature range of 21-23 F with a windchill of 5-12 F, so proper layering and wind shells will be important!

We will discuss clothing and gear requirements in more detail at the pre-trip meeting at 6 PM on Thursday in the MITOC office (W20-461).

Here is a map with the route marked: https://caltopo.com/p/LPBFU

Please plan to leave Cambridge very early on Sunday or discuss arrangements to stay at Intervale Cabin with leaders if interested.
