Join us on Saturday for a trip up Cannon, a classic and popular 4000-footer with beautiful views!
The trail is 7 miles long with 2500' of elevation. We will plan to take the trail via Lonesome Lake to the summit and the Hi-Cannon trail on the way back. This is a moderate-level trip and prior hiking experience would be advantageous. The hike will give us a chance to practice using different kinds of traction, particularly using microspikes and/or crampons for icy trail conditions. Chilly temps on Saturday will also give us an opportunity to practice winter layering/delayering and food anti-freezing skills.
