Recommended: Hiking experience of similar length and gain in any season.

Mt. Israel is one of the 52-With-A-View peaks in the White Mountains of NH. It has great views of the taller mountains in the Sandwich Range, and it's just a little over 2 hours from Boston!

Hike: 4.2 miles, 1800 ft. gain. If everyone wants to, we could also make it a loop hike, which would be 8.2 mi and 1900 ft. gain (and we could make the decision after reaching the summit based on how things are going). Route: https://caltopo.com/m/VN9HU. (We ended up doing the 4.2 miles plus a 1.2 mile out-and-back to Beede Falls and Lower Falls, for a total of 5.4 miles.)

We'll hike at a comfortable pace.

Pre-trip meeting will be after the WS lecture on Thursday.

If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, edit the “Lottery preferences” on your MITOC profile to show this.
