Join us for a trip to Smuggler’s Notch for the 3-day MLK weekend. We are going full glamping mode and have rented an Airbnb in Cambridge, VT at an anticipated cost of $125/pp for Saturday and Sunday nights. This is separate from the MITOC trip fee. Our plan is to drive to Smugg’s early on Saturday in rope teams, climb, and cook a group dinner. We’ll repeat on Sunday and Monday, then drive back to Boston on Monday afternoon.

This trip is most appropriate for intermediate climbers. You should be a confident lead belayer and ideally have some top-rope ice experience (comfortable following WI3+ on TR). Multipitch rock experience (comfortable with a hanging belay and knowing how to rappel) will open up more opportunities. Approaches will vary from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the objective, starting with hiking on the road through the notch and then steep hikes up to climbs.

We are acutely aware of the weather conditions and will make a call on whether or not this trip can be safely and somewhat enjoyably run later in the week. If we can't go to Smuggs we will try to scratch together a trip in NH but it will likely not be all 3 days. Fingers crossed for Ullr, Boreas, and Itztlacoliuhqui to look kindly on us.
