We are doing Jackson & Webster via the Jackson-Webster Loop Trail!
This is approximately a 6.4 mile hike with about ~2,400 feet of elevation gain. We will use microspikes and potentially snow shoes depending on the weather; we will provide an opportunity to rent gear from the MITOC office on Thursday, January 5.
Located along the Presidential Range, Jackson (which is ironically not named after President Andrew Jackson) is considered to be one of the easier and shorter New Hampshire 4000 footers. We will tack on Mt. Webster, which is right next to Jackson and listed as one of the 52 mountains with a view. The overall elevation gain and winter conditions (fresh snow?!) make this a moderate to hard hike.
There is a mandatory hybrid pre-trip meeting 6-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, over Zoom and at the MITOC office. Participants who need to borrow gear and equipment should also come to the office at that time to grab what they need.
