Want to see some beautiful fall colors and also spend some contemplative time painting, sketching, photographing, or just basking in said colors? Join us on a half day hike to Breakheart Reservation Saturday the 15th. Our loop (trail link here) will be 3.7 miles in length with about 550 ft elevation gain. We'll take an hour break about halfway through our hike somewhere with a good view. During that time you are welcome to create art or simply hang out.

We'll bring a small supply of watercolors, brushes, paper, and pens to share. If you want to paint, you'll need to bring a flat surface on which to put paper (clipboard, binder, etc). If you have art supplies of your own please feel free to bring them (for personal use or to share)! Plan to dress warmly and bring extra layers for our break, The weather will be brisk and it's very easy to get chilly when not actively moving.

Mandatory pre-trip meeting will be at 7:15pm on Wednesday October 12, in-person at the MITOC office (with a remote Zoom-in option). Please email the leaders if you can't make it to the pre-trip meeting so that we can get you oriented.

We'll meet at Stratton Student Center at 8:15am, leave at 8:30am sharp, and return around 1:30pm.

Previous hiking or art experience not required. If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, please edit the “Lottery preferences” on your MITOC profile to show this.
