Hello and welcome to our newest edition of the MITOC Trail Race!!

The TL;DR:

Location: Middlesex Fells, Sheepfold Parking Lot

Distance: ~8 miles, ~1000ft vert

Course: Skyline Trail, CCW

Date: 10/15/2022 (Saturday)

Time: 9AM - Noon

Signups: 50 spots available, recommended $25 entry fee

The full deets:

This year, we will be journeying long and far to the Middlesex Fells, a nice little (2200 acre) park with a few miles (100mi!) of running trails, a whopping 20-minute drive from MIT (and accessible by bike / public transit).

Course Details

The race will consist of running the 8-mile Skyline Loop (see map here). We will start at Sheepfold Dog Park and run counter-clockwise. This loop is identified by white blazes, and has very technical terrain (lots of rocks/hills/roots).

There will be some water/drinks/snacks provided at Sheepfold where racers and volunteers can hang out with fellow MITOCers, pet dogs, eat snacks, etc. while the other runners are still racing.

Entry Fee

Suggested minimum donation of $25 dollars to the bunkhouse fund. Donations can be made here

Logistics

We'll do our best to organize some carpooling to/from the race -- signups will close the Wednesday before the race (10/12) for time to coordinate ride details.

Volunteering

We could use a few volunteers to hang out, watch the aid station, and take down splits. If you're interested in helping out, but don't want to race, please shoot me (Kathy) an email!
