Prerequisites
Physical condition for a long hike

Owl’s Head Mountain is one of the most remote of the White Mountains, which means that it is a perfect choice for one of the longest days of the year! What makes this hike memorable, besides the length, are the "interesting" stream crossings, the challenging scrambling up a steep slide with loose rocks, and the close-up views of the eastern side of the Franconia Range. There are also several bushwhack options to shorten the route.

This hike is only for people not on the Acadia trip.

Route: 18.4 miles (!), 2900 ft. elevation gain, https://caltopo.com/m/066GG

The plan will be to leave very early on Sunday morning. We'll hike at a comfortable pace.

Pre-trip meeting on zoom: Thursday June 16 at 8pm.

If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, edit the “Lottery preferences” on your MITOC profile to show this.
