The view from Zeacliff is featured on the cover of The 4000-footers of the White Mountains - it includes Mt. Washington and other Presidentials, as well as a panorama of the eastern Pemigewasset Wilderness. We'll hike there Sunday! Along the way, we'll visit Mt. Hale, a 4000-footer whose summit has magnetic volcanic rocks that will confuse your compass. We'll also pass by Zealand Falls Hut, which features a nearby waterfall (and restrooms!)
We'll leave Cambridge Sunday morning and return Sunday evening. The hiking route is 9.8 miles, with 3450 ft. elevation gain: https://caltopo.com/m/0KL4J. We'll hike at a comfortable pace.
Pre-trip meeting on zoom: Thursday May 19 at 8pm.
People accepted to the May Circus should not sign up for this trip, but waitlisted people (or anyone else up for a Sunday day hike) are welcome! Our trip is independent of the circus; we will not be stopping at Camelot.
If you can drive your own car or are willing to drive a rental car, edit the “Lottery preferences” on your MITOC profile to show this.
