Arnold Arboretum is a 281-acre preserve full of trees from around the world, and May is a great time to visit to see the lilacs in bloom! It's in Boston, just 6 miles from MIT, and accessible via the T.
We'll arrive there at 11am and spend a few hours exploring the park. It should be more like an extended walk (several miles) than a hike - this is the rare trip for which sneakers suffice!
