Join Ben, Jason and Nathaniel on our quest to slay the mighty snow beast of Hoth, the Wampa! We'll hunt down this mythical creature of Star Wars fame on the slopes of Mt. Washington this Sunday, and we need all the jedi and bounty-hunter skill we can collect in order to succeed. Costumes and safe props are highly encouraged!
We'll be taking the Lion Head Trail up from the east, then descend on the Boott Spur, for a round-trip distance of 9 miles with 4250' of elevation gain. You can stay at one of the cabins or drive from Boston, just meet at Pinkham Notch at 7:45am! There will be gorgeous views of the Presidentials and the surrounding Whites from the roof of New England, weather permitting. But of course, the most important part of this trip is finding and defeating the mighty Wampa. If only I could just get my lightsaber un-stuck from the snow!
Skills we'll practice are above-treeline travel, the happiness triangle, and lightsaber fencing, with an emphasis on protecting skin and staying coordinated above treeline.

1) What above-treeline trips have you done? 2) What do you want to learn on this trip? 3) In case of emergency, would you rather sleep inside a tomtom or a snow cave?
