- Prerequisites
- Solid hiker (above tree line experience a plus), adroit top rope belay (lead-belay always a plus), have ice climbed before and can top out on top-rope routes.
Saturday: Meet at the Pinkham notch visitor center at 6:30 am to buy camping permits. Hike up the Tuckerman Ravine-Lion's Head Winter route to the summit. Descend via the Huntington Ravine trail to check conditions, then over to Hermit Lake shelter to camp. Saturday contingency: If above-treeline conditions are inappropriate, we will hike Old Jackson Road to Lowe's Bald Spot, then to Raymond Path to Hermit Lake. Sunday: Climb in Huntington Ravine. Sunday contingecy: If weather or avalanche conditions aren't favorable, instead we'll hike out, drive to Frankenstein and climb there.
