Prerequisites
At least one previous MITOC B-level trip. Good layering/delayering skills.

Total distance 6.9 miles, 2800k ft elevation gain. Route will be Mt Waumbek via Starr King trail, out and back. Departure from Boston will likely be around 5-5:30 AM.

Waumbek doesn't have a great reputation. It requires over a three hour drive and has no summit views *. Then why would you ever want to hike it? Peakbagging! Peakbaggers rejoice and hike this unspectacular mountain with good company! If you're not a peakbagger, you'll be on your way to becoming one by the end of the trip :)

* there are supposedly views near the Mt Starr King subpeak

Weather on Saturday is expected to be in the low single digits, so be prepared with your layering/delayering!

Note: There is a potential storm developing this weekend that might affect our ability to drive up the Whites. We may change location/gear or cancel depending on the weather.

Our pre-trip meeting will be held at 6 PM on Thursday inside the Stratton Student Center
